Why couples coaching?

Most people aspire to live a satisfying life as a couple because we are social beings. However, the journey as a couple begins with enthusiasm and long-term perspectives. Over time, the relationship can weaken without realizing it and produces feelings of pain, anguish, guilt, or disappointment. We do not know how to fix it. There are many reasons why relationships can lose their meaning and initial commitment, for example:

  • The psychological, biological, or spiritual changes.
  • The experiences of life create new beliefs and values.
  • Responsibilities and interests about personal needs.
  • Mistreatment, abuse, infidelity, and other multiple conflicts.
  • The departure of children, divorces, illnesses, deaths, and significant life of changes.

There are endless reasons that can cause differences in ideas, thoughts, and behaviors that determine the couple’s stability.

Staying as a couple is a process of relating, getting to know each other, and committing day by day. From this premise, the couple needs to renew their ties to adapt to new situations and challenges that arise over time.

All couples go through personal changes that generate divergent paths; therefore, coaching can be an effective tool both as a couple and an individual.

The objective of WL&C is to accompany the couple throughout the process to analyze and evaluate in depth the reality of the couple’s life.

It is a time to raise awareness to renew the relationship’s purposes, to establish common goals and real commitments so that the communication bridges are more effective, understandable, and with true meaning.

It is a productive time for learning and making decisions to carry out actions that lead to a better relationship with one’s partner and thus achieve stability, trust, and, of course, love.

Difference between a Life Coach VS Psychologists, Psychotherapist, and Counselors

Counselors, therapists, and psychologists

Mainly focus on patients to diagnose mental conditions and trauma.
Can go from the past to the present to diagnose some conditions.
Primarily works to heal physical and psychological conditions using therapeutic methods for the existing patients.

The Life Coach

Focuses on the client’s situations to direct them to identify their opportunities.
It mainly goes from the present to the future; it never diagnoses.
Coaches have clients, not patients, and work to improve the quality of life, modify behavior, thoughts, and emotions using the techniques and methodology of coaching.

What are couples coaching like?

Couples coaches specialize in asking questions to help one or both people in a relationship to improve something, for example:

  • Improve communication
  • Personal growth
  • Responding to the needs of the other

The improvement will be evaluated based on the metrics decided by the stakeholders. It is about providing a safe space for people to communicate to work through emotional issues or come to terms with something hard to talk about (for example, a previous divorce, infidelity, illness, or an illness)—death, etc.) or problems that prevent someone from being happy.

Although it is not one primary goal, sometimes in couples coaching, it is necessary to deal with past unresolved issues that affect one’s ability to be happy together today. For example, “I said that I had a hard time trusting my partner because of how my parents dined me when I was younger. Tell me about it.”

Couples coaching is more about evaluating and adapting one’s habits in the present so that one can get the results one wants in the future, whether it is fixing something in the short term, for example:

  • How can we organize our itinerary to spend more quality time together?
  • How can I prevent my current conflicts with my in-laws from really damaging our marriage?

It’s probably easiest to show the kind of questions couples coaching professionals might ask:

  • What would I want to get from this?
  • Where would I like to stay?
  • Do I have any goals?
  • What do I need to experience to feel that my partner is listening to me?
  • Do I want to stop worrying about money?
  • What could be the first steps in planning to get my finances back on track?
  • What would make me feel more like a partner and less like “mom” or “dad”?
  • What might be some of the steps that get me started on my new path?

In couples coaching, the end goal often goes beyond open goals like “feeling happy,” “coming to terms with the past,” or “getting closure.” Instead, it’s about helping myself get measurable results, sometimes little by little, to solve the problems that I already know are damaging my relationship and to achieve a better future.

Frequent questions

Are couples coaching right for me?

Each person must have specific mental stability, confidence, and self-esteem to develop potential and improve relationships. Many couples experience guilt with partners, but they realize positive changes that enhance the relationship when they attend coaching sessions.

How long does a coaching process last?

Each session can last one hour. The number of sessions depends on each case. Typically, a session package could be 6 to 12 sessions.

How much do the sessions cost?

Depending on the type of coaching, can be personal or group, the cost could be approximately between US$90 and US$250.

Is the treatment effective?

Many clients report a substantial improvement after several couples coaching sessions. In addition, it allows them to see more clearly where the problems are and focus on the necessary actions to achieve fundamental changes in life with lasting results.

Is it better than traditional therapy?

Essentially, therapy clients seek healing; coaching clients seek progress results (according to the goals they set); therapy clients want to comprehend why they feel what they feel; coaching clients want to take action to change their lives.

How do the online sessions work?

We use video conference platforms, by which we meet virtually at the previously established time and from the place of the choice.

Does insurance cover it?

No, couples coaching is not covered by insurance companies; however, our prices are very affordable, and the results will feel that it is the best investment in life.

Is my privacy protected?

We have a stringent code of moralities that prevents us from sharing personal information with other people or organizations without prior authorization.
